Alissa A. Watts

Alissa (Ally) Watts was born on April 25, 1967 at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, D.C. and grew up in Maryland, Wisconsin, Thailand, and India. Ms. Watts received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Summa Cum Laude, at The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C. and graduated from the University Of North Carolina School Of Law, Chapel Hill, North Carolina in 2001.

After graduating from law school, Ms. Watts defended medical malpractice cases at Yates, McLamb & Weyher, LLP in Raleigh, North Carolina for six years before returning to Maryland. During Ms. Watts' practice in North Carolina she represented physicians, hospitals, nursing homes, and other healthcare providers throughout all aspects of litigation and defended Nursing and Medical Board claims. Ms. Watts joined the firm of Gleason, Flynn, Emig & Fogleman, Chartered in 2008 where she practices medical malpractice defense.

Prior to law school, Ms. Watts served eleven years in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman, Pharmacy Technician, Midshipman, and as a Lieutenant in the Navy Nurse Corps. While stationed at Camp Lejeune, Ms. Watts cared for Marine Corps personnel, gaining expertise in multiple areas of nursing and ultimately specializing in critical care nursing.

Alissa Watts is a member of the Bars in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and North Carolina and a registered nurse in North Carolina. Ms. Watts is a member of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, Maryland Chapter of the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management, Maryland Association for Healthcare Quality, D.C. Defense Lawyers’ Association, National Rifle Association, Sigma Theta Tau, Kappa Chapter, an International Honor Society of Nursing, Military Officers Association of America, and the Federalist Society.
