Christopher C. Fogleman

Chris Fogleman received his Juris Doctor from the Washington College of Law at the American University in Washington, DC in May 1984. He graduated magna cum laude from King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania with a BA in May 1981. Mr. Fogleman has been admitted to practice law in Maryland since 1985, the District of Columbia since 1989, and Virginia since 1990. He is also admitted in the federal courts in those jurisdictions.

Prior to joining Gleason & Flynn, Chartered in November 1988, Chris Fogleman served as a judicial law clerk to the Hon. Calvin R. Sanders in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland. Mr. Fogleman then accepted a position as an Assistant Public Defender in Montgomery County, Maryland, where he successfully represented hundreds of clients charged with misdemeanor and felony criminal offenses. During his tenure with the Office of the Public Defender, Mr. Fogleman's criminal jury trial experience included many serious felony cases, and he won acquittals in armed robbery, kidnapping and homicide cases.

Since joining Gleason & Flynn, Chartered, Mr. Fogleman has had nearly twenty years of civil litigation experience, including significant trial and appellate experience in the courts of Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. Mr. Fogleman became a principal in the firm in July 1996, and in July 2000, the firm recognized Mr. Fogleman's accomplishments and contributions by adding his name to the firm name, Gleason, Flynn, Emig & Fogleman, Chartered. Current areas of concentration include creditors' rights, commercial litigation, alternative dispute resolution and criminal defense. Since 1990, Mr. Fogleman has served, by appointment of the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, as a mediator, where he has facilitated settlement of many difficult commercial and other disputes.

He is an active member of the Montgomery County Bar Association, serving on its Judicial Selections and Fee Dispute Resolution Committees. He is a member of several professional associations, including the Maryland State Bar Association, the Commercial Law League of America, the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys and the Maryland Criminal Defense Attorneys Association. Mr. Fogleman has frequently lectured in continuing legal education seminars on creditors' rights issues. He has earned Martindale Hubbell's "AV" Peer Review Rating, its highest, for legal ability and professional ethics.
